Do you have a EWD book / download?

Can you unscrew the indicator @ the housing & have a helper watch the cluster while you push the detent ball?

Did that and no change...light still flashing even when ball fully depressed. Also put a jumper on the pins on the connector to the ball switch.
OHM meter on the ball switch show it is working. So like you said it has to be a connector or in the control unit.

OK Found the issue...worn wires where the loom meets the body above the axle. Inside the split loom is about 8-10 wires and the locker breather tube. Two of the wires were worn through and one was completely broken.

The broken with is one of the wires from the ball switch so the Diff. ECU was not getting the signal.

This is the wire Y-W that was worn through..between switch and connector at rear bumper DS. Right were the loom would be moving with the axle under normal operation.

Take your time & do a good repair - seems like the harnesses are a NLA item, going from ~2 yr old info (about how long ago I seem to recall Dan/Onur adding it to the "list").

Glad you found it.

Hey orttauq

Thanks for diagnosis and follow up. I too had working rear locker actuator and working ball switch but the stupid dash light kept blinking after turning the magic dial. Found a broken wire yellow wire above near the ball switch. I can't understand how it broke. It was in the loom and looked safe????
