Nice article and fantastic concepts. Interesting dually as the 200 is referenced.

Good article. With a good message about weight. That many times less is more.

In the many blogs, video series, and readings I've come across, it's a consistent message that the seasoned overlanders and travelers voice.

Overloading on the other hand, is also a hurdle that less experienced travelers consistently have to surmount with more frequent equipment breaks, stucks, etc. Where there is caravans of various setups and vehicle's, the really heavy and overly burdened setups are usually the ones experiencing more troubles. When the heavy rigs get stuck, they get really stuck! Contrasting with the obvious performance advantages to the lighter setups, especially traversing technical tracks.

XOverland sticks out in my mind. In their earlier years, they tended to load and run much heavier. With suspension breakage, fuel use, stucks, etc. They're later series tends to emphasis more strategic travel with less heavy builds and less overall stuff.
