I’ve done some searches, dug through a few threads and can’t seem to find it.

97 LC, one key, no fob. I located the security module,(which had been unplugged, plugged it in and it works), so I’d assume it had a key fob at some point.

I’d like to buy a fob and use it but can’t find the module to pair it to. It’s not under the seat and I don’t see it in the drivers kick panel. Any other thoughts on location?

There is only one module under driver seat.

So, if I do not have the module but do have the factory alarm, would a key fob still have been used when the vehicle was originally purchased? Just to set an alarm but not lock doors? Just seems strange for a Toyota.

The rs3000 alarm sits under the driver's seat and HAS the receiver built in, there is no additional 'module'

Just found this today, attached.

cheers,
george.

That’s a great doc to have. Thanks for sharing. So if that is the security module what is it that I have installed? See attached

Ok, disregard. The internet proved useful today. That’s a completely different dealer installed system. Fobs for this system are apparently hard to come by.

This does appear to match up to the module, albeit quite pricey. Worth it if it solves the problem.

However, does it make more sense to replace it with something more reliable?
