Man that thing is clean. You shoulda kept it! Will be interesting to hear how it has fared if you find it.

The current owner is either happy with the Cruiser or there is a contract on my life.......either way I would like to know.:D

Probably has a cracked head or something.... Lol

Original head replaced with a 3L head so hopefully all is well.:) I can only hope the 2L-TE has not overheated and is somehow responsible for the current forest fires in Colorado.:D

What boost were you running on that thing? I see it has a MBC. Did it come with that, or did you install?

I understand you don't know me and have no way of realizing I am a "mechanical dufus" so you will have to spell out what a "MBC" actually is.:) The boost had been turned up when the 3L head was added but to be honest I don't remember where it was set. ( there are days when I can't remember what I had for breakfast either ):D

MBC = Manual Boost Controller. It's the little brass colored thing with a knob on it by your turbo in the above picture. :)

....and the whole time I thought it was just a brass colored do-dad.:) The amount of boost may have been discussed in the original LJ78 thread if you are bored enough to re-read it.:) I do recall the following mods being done prior to my buying it:
1) 3L head installed with additional water ports being machined.
2) radiator re-cored and Evans Coolant being added instead of anti-freeze.
3) 2-1/2" exhaust installed.
4) Turbo rebuilt and boost increased.
5) Pyrometer installed.
I added a good quality aftermarket water temp. gauge and manual oil pressure gauge.

Thanks, I'll have to look up your original thread. I probably have seen it in one of my many searches already, and just don't remember. Sounds like you had a pretty well maintained and setup vehicle. My guess would be it's still running fine if the new owner took reasonable care of it.

The only thing that bothered me was the water temp. during the Summer when the A/C was in use. Despite all of the money that was spent to cool the engine down, I still saw water temps. in the 220-230 degree (F) range. The temps. during the Winter were never an issue with averages in the 190 degree (F) range.
The EGR was also blocked....
I would think the Cruiser would be fairly easy to locate simply because there can't be to many LJ78's running around in the States.

I actually thought seriously about buying that truck from you . . . it's a beaut.
