LJ78 water temps..

Just curious to find out what everyone's water temps are just driving around town with the 2L-TE.

I'll post a pic of typical around town temp. The factory gauge doesn't start really moving until I hit 175-180... and mid point on the gauge is 183ish-193ish... then after that I dunno...

I know the gauge is pretty accurate because I tested it against a couple other thermometers. I know winters coming up and I'm gonna need to switch out the thermostat for the factory one (not sure what is in there now). Just curious to see what everyone gets.

My Winter temps were never an issue however my Summer temps (A/C on) were scary. 230-240 degrees (F) at speed.

I run an 82C thermostat, and my factory gauge sits maybe just a hair above where yours is in your picture. With all non-towing driving, summer or winter, steep hills, wheeling, whatever, my gauge doesn't go over half.

When towing I've been up to the upper white line on the factory gauge (with evans waterless coolant) when hitting long steep hills in 30C+ weather. I'm guessing that is around 230F or more. With regular coolant while towing under the same harsh conditions I'd hit about 3/4 on the factory gauge (guessing 210-220F)?
