LJ78 Reverse Lights/H55F

Hey guys,

Im having a time figuring out the reverse lights and 4x4 lights after forgetting about it for a few years.... the plugs for the 4x4 and reverse lights are intact on the h55f, havent touched them yet.
I cant seem to find the circuit loop in the old lj78 auto shifter loom connectors that would power the lights.
Do the 4WD and ECT control boxes need to be installed for the lights to work?

I have tried with the key on, every possible combo of jumper-ing and no reverse lights. I guess next I will try the ECT plug or find the reverse light in the tailight loom and wire it my self. didnt get a 4x4 light either while fiddling so Im guessing you may need the control boxes hooked up. I wonder if I still have mine......? they got unhooked because they were in the way of the clutch pedal bracket and werent needed at the time.

I have my truck in bits and will take a look later today. I think there is a separate switch in the shifter. (auto) Should have nothing to do with the 4x4 system or ECU... Just a simple switch...
Manual box has the switch in the box...

I just binned my old shifter not long ago, or id check it that way. Just cant understand why i cant get lights by jumper-ing the connectors..

cant seem to find it in the search, but i downloaded the RM315E manual from daemon4x4.com we ll see if that helps me out.

I discovered the colours are incorrect in the other manual.

The Reverse lights at the lens are a Red-blue stripe/White-black stripe on both sides.

Ill see where they trace to at the forward cabin as they run along the doors to the dash. There arent any red-blue stripe wires at the shifter plugs or the ECT plugs. I may just splice into the harness when i find them.

So, Ive traced the wires to one of the large plugs at the fuse box. Found the Red-Blue stripe and White-black. When putting 12v to the Red-blue, I get no lights. when grounding the white-black, with 12v on red-blue, I get no lights.
When putting 12v to red-blue at the front connector plug and grounding the light socket at the rear, I get no light. WTF!?

The wiring diagrams in the manual are correct in the routing, but the wire colours are off. The back up light wire is red-black in the manual, but the wire on the truck is red-blue. they are also in different spots on the plugs than stated in the manual....
I may just say screw it and buy a coil of wire and run my own seperate reverse lights alongside the harness off key power with a fuse. this sh!t is driving me nuts.
