Hi Everyone,

I've notice a red that came on the dash board under the number 6 and it came on for like 5 seconds and then turn back off. Can someone please tell me what this means when this red light turns on and off. This is the second time it has happen. Please see the attach photo to see what I'm talking about. Thanks!

Does this happen when you are driving? Good chance if its going out you are over boosting somehow. Maybe check and make sure your waste gate is hooked up and functioning properly.

You can pull the codes from your ECU also. It's pretty easy. Just jump the T1-E1 connections in the diagnostic connector with your key in the 'on' position. That LED will start flashing. It will tell you all the problems that it has stored in memory. Disconnecting your battery will reset the codes (do this after you've pulled the codes) I think this is the right document to show you what the flashes indicate: http://toyotasurf.asn.au/techsite/downloads/DiagnositcTroubleCodesandPossibleCauses.doc

Yes, it occurred twice while I was driving on some heavily road shocks. Also the last time I drove it the light had not come on at all and I was driving it for at least 30 minutes. So do you think it could be some type of shock that trigger the light to come on?

I got mine to quit flashing like this after much angst and worry,. It's usually just a bad connection. If the light continues to intermittently go on, drive it around without the dashboard cubby in place and have a passenger give the ECU wiring harness a slight tension. The light goes out? Then you are just dealing with a loose connection. Zip tie the wiring harness so there is a better link to the ECU. Since I did this, no problems.
