I'd say that's fair for a truck that is going to need an engine swap regardless.

So you are basically paying for the truck minus the powertrain.

I know they don’t have great reputations. Why are you sure it will need an engine swap?

Hello,

The 2L engine has a habit of overheating and cracking its head with no warning. Especially when the PO did not care to allow the engine to cool down the turbo after sustaining high speeds or high rpm.

Some even refer to it as a time bomb.

Thanks for replying on my post. We aren’t going to use it hard or off road. Primarily around town. Is there anything I should look for?


Do you know what an 89 in nice condition with 125000 miles runs? I can find absolutely none for sale in North America.
