my apologies if I’m beating a dead horse, but 3 full turns on the KDSS valves before or after putting the truck on the lift to install suspension? There are conflicting instructions on the web, some say put truck on the lift THEN release KDSS, others say release KDSS then put it up on the lift.

What days the brain trust?

Thank you!

Edit:

I answered my own question by calling the fine folks at BudBuilt. To add to the information collective of ih8mud:

KDSS valve opening of 3 full turns is insensitive to when it is completed, as long as it is before the new components are installed. Therefor, the vehicle can be on the ground or hoisted before the KDSS are opened 3 full turns.
*It should be noted that 2.5 turns will still allow fluid transfer between the reservoirs, while leaving a margin of safety from the valves being opened too far.

The KDSS pistons can be manipulated with a prybar during installation in order to aid in part fitting.

Allow the vehicle to sit on the ground for 20 minutes post suspension installation before the KDSS valves are finally closed.

Sorry if this information is already around, but I had trouble finding a definitive answer regarding the KDSS specifics.

It shouldn't matter when/where you open them, but when you close them have the truck sitting back on level ground.

I opened mine before I lifted and closed once back on the level ground. Just be very careful to not strip the screw if you're dealing with an older 200. If you feel it not cooperating at all, just drop the wrench and back away!

My KDSS was opened without issue. The body was basically rust free, aside from the dusting of surface rust. I’ve been soaking them with PB blaster for a few weeks, and once they’re back together, they’re getting a film of lithium grease.

And if you find you get a lean after the lift try this:
Fixing a KDSS lean - Balancing KDSS

I don't have a lift but I did have a lean. Fixed it for me. My friend developed a lean after putting a lift on his 4R trail with KDSS. This method fixed it for him too.
