Was going to post this in the LIGHTING posts area but most all of it is about off road lights and LED so here I am.
Question, anyone ever remove the small side plastic amber marker lens from a front turn signal housing. If so what were the details for removal. Glued in or ?
Myself and a buddy are looking to do a mode on the housing lens of his FJ40.
Thanks

shouldn't need to remove the side lens.. the bulb is accessed from inside by removing the front screwed in lense.. but yes they are glued in place on most of them that i have seen.. not sure how the OEM were but i think they were glued as well..

Hey what's up? Hope all is well with you the family.
Yeah we have his turns signals gutted for a LED build. That's another story.
He wants to remove the side lens without damage to the housing so he can install a LED custom light. Pretty cool, the guys a wiz with electrical stuff. Anyway if it is glued in as you say we may be able to tap it out if the glue is old and thin. We'll go from there.
Thanks

I not to sure about that as it may work but also warp the housing. I know you mean heat to a point just seems a bit risky ( I am a bad cook ). They are original (35 years 1979) and in nice shape but dulled from the sun but I had buffed them out for him and now they look like new. I would think a few taps on the lens may work if the glue is old. Looks as if the hits will be for the inside outward. Thanks.
