I had just swapped transmissions over from a spare one i had in the basement because of a horrific bearing wine . I threw in a new clutch and changed all the fluids over to full synthetic she works great and with the full synthetic seams to stay a little cooler and run smother. The problem that I am having is this morning i went to adjust the clutch peddle and found some gear oil seeping coming from the bottom of the bell housing where it meets the engine I really do not want to drop the transmission again to put in a new seal quite yet... do you think it is the full synthetic that's making it leak out? should i switch to a higher weight gear oil? or is there any additives that will help with the leak? It seams to be a slow leak for now at least
there were no leaks when it was on my outer truck with the old gear oil

88 4runner, 22re, 5sp manual, 75-90 gear oil

Many many have stated these types of experiences after they switch a well used engine from mineral to syn. The easiest, and cheapest, would be to go back to mineral and see.
