Hi All:

Can anyone educate me on the later model Toyota manual transmissions, especially those found in Land Cruiser models?

I am familiar with older Land Cruiser transmissions like the J30, H41/42, and H55F.
I am confused when I hear about the 150 and 151 Series transmissions.

Would like to learn more about drive train combinations, aka which transmission came with what engine, etc.

Thanks much,

Alan

Ok the R series trannies are light duty in comparison to the H series trannies.

R150 and R151 are both 5 speeds very very similar to each other
H150 and H151 are also both 5 speeds very very similar to each other.

R151s for example came in post 1999 70 series cruisers like the HZJ79 or HZJ79
H150s came in the HDJ81
H151s are in HDJ7* and VDJ7*

The H15* replaced the H55s.
I don't know why they really made the r15* for cruisers, they apparently don't hold up well.

Hi All:

Thanks much ForealBorealB] for the info!

Which engines came in front of these transmissions?

Were the R series transmissions used in the HiLux range at all?

Thanks again,

Alan
