Well the wife has been buggin about going camping and wheelin without her and told me I needed to spend a weekend with her. Figured it was going to be hot in LA this weekend so I made last minute cheap hotel reservations in Lompoc. Figured we go hang out in Solvang and tour a little bit of the wine country. Well anyway if you've ever been to Solvang, your usually done in a couple of hours.... So we were done site seeing by 1:00 pm. Since we didn't want to go hang out in the room for the rest of a beautiful 79* day with cool breezes.. figured we'd go for a cruise in the cruiser... So we jumped in the 80 and just drove.... no plans, no itinerary just go.... Well we ended up taking Hwy 1 around Vandenberg AFB up thru Guadelupe and out to Pismo Beach to drive around a bit.... cruised the beach and saw all the big trucks, rails, trailers and quads... BTW, 255 85 16's aren't the greatest in sand... I aired down under 10lbs and the side walls just wouldn't flex out.... I was able to drive on the sand, but was afraid to stop in anything extremely soft. After that we drove up to Lake Lopez and looked for some clam shell fossils on the side of the road and just enjoyed the beautiful area...... Nice weekend just getting away.... And this was only Saturday.
