My 1997 landcruiser 80 series auto has lost its drive, it was parked up in December as the rear brakes, brake pipes and flexis needed changing.
We parked it up and jacked the rear of the vehicle up, and put it on axle stands. and left in neutral. Work was finished yesterday, we took so long due to parts shortage and my health.
Wheels put back on and vehicle was taken off stands etc. put vehicle in park and started up, let it run for about 10mins, to warm up etc. put it into drive, the revs drop ever so slightly, but nothing happens, tried reverse, and Low gear, same problem. when to put it back into park with vehicle running and there is a grinding noise, but it will go into park, the Fluid is nice and clean and to correct level, Anybody ever had this issue before, the vehicle was running perfect until we jacked it up and did rear brakes. myself i think is like fluid related (due to the vehicle being tilted and fluid running to front of auto box etc) i maybe totally wrong.

Ok finally an update, i jacked up the front of the vehicle and left it over weekend, this was not intentional to leave it that long, but this morning droped down the vehicle of the jack and stands, made sure it was in park, i cycled the high and low a few times, left it run for a few mins and i have now got drive, for the life of me i do not know what was wrong, i had an idea it may be fluid, but even checking it now, its at correct level and its a nice clean red......, took it out for a run earlier and its running perfect...............Phew i had visions of dropping auto box etc. what a worrying few days. But thank you all for your help and suggestions.
