You might want to try pricing the goods from suppliers in Australia as that is where most of the suspension kits and difflocks originate from.

I think Dobinsons still do overseas orders and they make a good kit for the coil sprung 7* series.
ARB and TJM do difflocks ,send them an email and see what they can do;)

The Red Cross vehicles were low spec, not sure about Tubedboosts vehicle though.
I guess a lot of them were in areas where the max safe limit is well within the range of a 4sp.
I forget which gearbox it was .
Some BJ75 only had 4 speeds ,some with no power steering, drums all round. There are 75 series out there that didnt even have a heater from the factory:D

:eek: that's really bad i thought aus spec 75s were basic what you explained rosco looks like its one level up from having a milk crate as a drivers seat

Car makers often build the vehicle to the dealer specs because they know what the local market wants.
I think the mines in Canada had some 4 sp BJ75 once and Ive heard of few in Africa as well.
The 75 series that Japan donated to the Gulf War in 1990 had no heaters or AC and they were meant for the desert.
Did you ever see the Falcon panel vans with no passenger seat?:grinpimp:

NO ..you have to be joking me:lol:

the gearbox on the lj79 is the g40 4 speed.i think they were made with a lot of heavy duty usage in mind.the rear diff is a Limited Slip item.trying to figure out whether the g52f 5 speed can be swapped.great car though.haveit now fo three years and only thing it needs are regular oil changes.lots of torque for a 2.8litre.much much quicker han the 2lt-e

I recently bought a LJ 79 and mine happens to be one of those 7 LJ79s that Red Cross imported into the country in 1996. It is in great condition but since I live a life on the road I wish to get a few things like filters, hoses, thermostats etc replaced. This model was never released in India and hence it is no surprise that nobody has any spare parts for the LJ79. So I decided to go online and look for the parts and I did manage to find a few e-stores in UK and Aus that ship these parts worldwide. But my confusion is that this model is not mentioned in the list of LC models to choose from. So my doubt is this - Which other model uses the same parts as the LJ79 RV-KR 3L 4sp?

I don't want to ship original parts from outside only to realise they don't fit.

Can anybody guide me?

Thank you for answering hzj79lee. The kind of parts I am looking for are v-belt, timing belt, radiator hoses, thermostat, wheel nuts. Would the specification for such parts be same if the engine is the same? Currently I am looking for parts that are meant for KZJ73 3.0TD diesel 1993->1996 hoping these parts would fit for LJ79 considering both the LJ79 and KZJ73 were built around the same time with the same 3L engine?

I apologise if my questions are ignorant. I am fairly new to this explorations into this car.
