Well, I must say, the Camp Kitchen kicks ass! Worked great to have cooking surface, light, water pressure and a good work surface.. The trailer caries it in style and with ease.

Womacje was sleeping high and dry backed up to the Lake.

I tried to drive on the shore but all of the stones were round and very flat kinda like pancakes so it was like driving on ball bearings. Almost zero traction and I had to unhook my trailer twice to get the truck back on dry ground. I had to use the winch to do the final pull on the trailer to get it off the beach. I have never driven on a surface like that. And to add, I have a very good surgeon. Six week from last thursday I had an eight inch slice in my gut to remove a half loaf of bread size tumor and I managed to heal in time to turn a 1000 lb. trailer around on slippery rocks twice without killing myself or even popping a nut! Thanks Doc!

Looks like a cool trip. Thanks for the pics.

Trailer on the beach ready to be winched. I was up to the diff housing coming up the little three foot rise in the foreground sliding sideways with stones rattling for three days in the wheels somewhere. Tires aired down to 12 lbs. and I was just barely moving. Didn't matter if there was gas applied or not. I have never experienced that before.

Hey, nice camp site. What kind/model of rain fly / tarp is that? Thanks,

If I recall its a Kelty Car Port It stands like that with two poles at the end or drops to the ground on the end with triangular sides that make walls for privacy or rough weather. Pretty easy set up and works pretty good, if you seal the seams! It rained really hard for a while and we had some little drip, drip, drips happening. We also added a center pole to keep the water from pooling in the window and dripping in.

Looks like a nice trip. All that hard work is paying off and you're getting to enjoy things!

proof that the most fun at a party is always had in the kitchen...

nice job, thanks for pix!

Were you North of Grand Marais?

I have spent some time on those beaches North of Croftville; good times.

Do you have any more pictures?

I would really like to get back up that way someday.

10.1 miles North from the Spur gas station in Grand Marais. It is part of the Superior Trail which is a hiking trail that goes for hundreds of miles. The spot we stayed at is the start of a 1.5 mile trail that winds along the shore. There are quite a few spots to camp and there is no charge. There are also no facilities. I did take a dip in the lake and froze my bitts and pieces nearly off.

I will try to load a 180 degree panorama made from nine photos but I don't think it will be to good. Taken just a bit farther north than the beach we camped at.

Yeah those rocks are tricky. Looks like a nice trip. Did you get a chance to wheel up here? Any more pics?

I actually sat on the beach and carved some elf faces on some driftwood for the ladies as a camp warming gift. The sun was out and the beer was cold. We did some wheeling on the way out on some pretty narrow forest roads. Nothing special but it was fun to get into the backwoods for a while.

No more pics. I was on vacation.;)

it was such a good trip, I barely remember that night. Wine, beer, wine, beer,... Bree and Pear quesadillas. MMMMMMM

That is one great spot for sure, its even prettier with snow on the ground.

Large grain size soft sand.:D I grew up with the stuff on Long Island, NY. Only very slightly more traction than a loose sand beach. PS, watch out for smooth pea gravel along rivers. It can also be that bad. What it takes is well smoothed stones of whatever size. If the stones are rough, they grip each other better and give some support. Smooth ones will flow much like loose sand will.
