In what would make this the second annual labor day exploration adventure, bill wright, concretejungle, and I headed to the hills for a weekend of casually exploring the hills of western north carolina. We met late Friday night and headed up to a bald for a nights sleep and a chance for a sunrise high over the blue ridge. Saturday was spent exploring some new to us trails and becoming more familiar w/ some interconnections of existing trail systems. Sunday we kicked across bear camp and headed out for Bill to get some gas and make the phone call to explain why hed be late returning. We hit the trails again after lunch in the park and headed back up shocksnapper to sugar creek gap for a sunset and surprise wind/rain storm that sent us to bed early.
All in all a great trip. Minimal damage recieved; bill grazed a stump, you can hardly see it.... i mean find it
and Concrete suffered a broken antannae
Just a great weekend of casual wheeling at no given pace w/ no particular destination in mind. As always, entertaining to wheel w/ Bill and CJ.
