Howdy everyone,
once again it is time to start revving up for the "Wheelin' 4 Toys" toy drive and trail ride on December 13th. This year you can attend for the price of $5 and a donated toy. Or if you are interested in getting the event extras, t-shirts will be available for $15 as well as catered BBQ brisket meals for $11. Remember you must be preregistered by November 21st to get the meals and shirts, as well as to get a spot in the guided trail ride. And as always, every vehicle entry will get a free raffle ticket and extra tickets will be available the day of for $1 apiece. I' have included both a black/white and color event flyer. Feel free to print these out and pass them on to other wheelers of display them at businesses.
Preregistration can be done by calling 660-200-2052 or will soon be available at www.brushbeaters.com. If you have any questions feel free to call the number above or contact me at live4jeepn@yahoo.com
Hope to see you there!

I'm planning on going and Jason may ride along.

I'm out.... Debi will be in Houston for work that week and the week after. Looks like I'll miss the Jamboree at Gilmer the following weekend too......

IF your talking about the TLCA jamboree then its two different months. One's in December and the other is in January

I am planning on arriving around 10:15-30sh am. Would like to get there earlier, but I have to work till 7am in the morning and won't be able to get on the road till 8:30sh in the morning.

If it snows, there is the potential for some interesting fun. Hope to meet up with those that are attending. :)

Spoke to Don yesterday and we're still planing on going. No word back from Jason if he will be riding along.

Anyone else from KC heading south?

If it stays dry it'll should be a blast but if it rains or snows it be a little slick like the Frostbite run earlier this year.

Had a blast. Only got one small ding in the trees, a little loving on the sliders and fender flares. I think most of it came from a short ledge called "The big dump"!

Hooked up with a friend that is working on a late 80s 4 runner.

I saw a few other Toyotas there, some people from Wichita a red FJ40, blue FJ-80. Saw a really nice orange 4runneer, as well as a couple of silver ones.

Got back around 9 last night. Had a great time with Don leading a few of us around the park. Don and I met up with a couple other guys from the Wichita 4x4 club. A good time was had by all, the temp wasn't too bad but the wind was nuts. All fared well except Don who managed to break his relay arm. I've got pics but I'd hate to add insult to injury. The Wichita 4x4 guys picked the Mexican restaurant which turned out to be pretty darn good eats. The only unfortunate issue all weekend I ran into is its been too cold to clean the cruiser of all the mud.

Wally,
We crossed paths a couple times. I wish I'd known it was you. There's no mistaking a Taco with an 8274 on the front. I was in the green 80 with the Wichita bunch.

Dear Santa,

I been reely reely gude this year, even to the dadgum kats, most a the time...
I is writin ta ya again acause I'd like ta revize the previous ledder I sent afore.
After what a tree did to my otherwize wunderful FJ-40 this passd Saturday, I apperenty need sum sorta underhood weldin device. Also please keep the 16' trailer high on the list.
Also please bring my wheelin buddies plenty a gude stuff too.
I must go now to the cold shop an fix my rig so I can show off, go wheelin once again.

Thanky an Sinceerly, Don (Middlefinger) P.

The wind was crazy! Ie 30-45mph. Wished we had been able to talk a little more.

I really liked seeing Don's winch, I have the Belleview 8000 version that came off our 73 FJ-40, brings back great memories. Don't see many of those early spur geared Belleview, Warn 5687s around. I wired mine up with two solenoids in paralell, put synthetic line on it because mine is on a reciever hitch. LOL still weighs in near 90lbs.

I remember the FJ-80 with the nice ARB bumper! Looks like a capible and functional family wheeler! Wished I had gotten a closer look.

LOL I was the low rider, AGAIN, of all the Toyotas we saw. :hillbilly:

The Brushbeaters did a great job IMO in the organzing of that event!

It'd be a long trip from KC to Wichita but I get around so I'm sure we'll be at the same event again.

:lol::lol: Yeah! When y'all startin' the family Kris???? :flipoff2:

Har har har!!! Do two cats count as a family?

After a chat with Don I got the feeling pics were missing. Her are a few including the carnage.

We got lucky, Dave had a Ready Welder and burned the relay arm together enough to get the 40 on a trailer.

The little tree that kicked Don's arse.

Good pics. Got any of your FJ-80 at Kansas Rocks?

I would drive out to Tuttle creek or down to Oklahoma, if I had enough warning to make sure I don't have work/ call on a given weekend.

Wally

No, if I don't have my navigator there usually aren't any pics.

I'm sure there will be something after the first of the year. The Frostbite is okay but if it's anything like last year I'll pass as there were a few hundred rigs.
