I've noticed everyone suggests PB Blaster and wondered what you think of Kroil. I have to special order it in my area. Some swear by it--Dave

PB, Kroil, even Marvel Mystery Oil work about the same. Spray it on, let it soak in a few hours, and you're good to go. They all work the same, just different packaging IMO.

REMEMBER: If it is stuck, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacing anyways.:hillbilly:

Kroil vs PB

Price is the difference IMO...both good. PB is easier to find.

We use kroil at work (aircraft maintenance) but I use PB at home. I guess availability and price drives me to PB. I think kroil works better having seen them both in use.

D'Animal--would send.....but to be honest...I lifted mine from work-Dave;)

LOL!

Most who use it are on the east coast and most who post up about it do the same. Someone posted up that you cannot buy it unless you have a business.

I asked one of my local places about it and they said that it is just a mix of kerosene and used motor oil. I think they were thinking of something else.

Kroil Penetrating Oil

Need to save that corroded part or fastener? Try Kroil on stubborn rusty hardware. Used by 480 of the fortune 500 maintenance departments. After trying the rest, we think you too will like Kroil best. Great on rusty hardware or even freeing frozen pistons and rings. Available in 16.5 oz. aerosol with extension nozzle and gallons. Not intended for use in California.

Item# Product Qty Price
43381Z Sili Kroil Aerosol 16.5 oz
$19.99
vs
PB Blaster
Penetrating Catalyst

Item #: 236634 Model: 20-PB 20oz @ Lowe's
$3.97

I think for the price difference $$$$, I'll stick with PB:cheers:

X4 on the Kroil. Best bet is to get it online from Kano Labs. They may all be applied the same, but Kroil's formula/makeup gets inside stuff better. Kroil comes in gallon size and that's what I got. Ya just need a small squirt spout can. I keep one near both my benches. I also got the spray can, but that apparently won't work for CA.

My 2¢ worth.

What no love for Liquid Wrench? Has'nt let me down over the years.

WOW I certainly did not pay $20 for my can. I think it was closer to $5. I got "Aero Kroil" from Kano Laboratories it is a "new convenient king size" 13oz. the can is orange and I am fairly sure I bought it from a shop we have here called Mcdonald Industrial. They sell to construction workers, machinists and the like. They are awesome, only place I know that sells center bits locally too. They are technically an industrial supply shop.
Oddly enough my can says not for retail sale order direct from Kano laboratories.

That said I slightly prefer Kroil to PB but both are good and I have both on hand. To be honest I usually make the decision of which one to use based on which can I seem to be able to find first.

I will say dissolving a Styrofoam cup with the Pb was kinda fun, have never tried the Kroil to see if it does it too.
