What material are the knuckles made out of? Can the knuckles be swapped from side to side?

That's a positive for me. Also it's not a reason that it can't be done. I'm building a custom axle and if I can swap the knuckles side to side I can build a high steer setup that welds onto the knuckle using the brake caliper mounts as a mounting point and support for lateral pressure against the arms.Brake caliper brackets would be on the front, for one thing.
I'm going to do the ifs hub swap (tundra brake mod) anyways so the stock brake mounts are useless to me.Well that wasn’t your question
* caliper mount
* steering stop
are side specific. Fill plug will be on back instead of front but no biggie.
I thought the IFS hub thing was only for mini truck axles? And the corresponding Tundra brakes are smaller than factory 80 stuff too, IIRC?I'm going to do the ifs hub swap (tundra brake mod) anyways so the stock brake mounts are useless to me.
So the steering stops are the only real issue for them being swapped side to side. I feel like I could just cut them off and relocate them wherever they go and be fine.
Same wheel bearings and spindle. The kit I'm going to use is 17+ 4runner brakes. They're the largest you can get for 6 lug. Plus that should put the wms at 66" which will be nice. Then I'll build the rear at 64".I thought the IFS hub thing was only for mini truck axles? And the corresponding Tundra brakes are smaller than factory 80 stuff too, IIRC?
