Know what tool this is?

Some sort of clamping tool, has a curved sides anvil and a pivoting "clamping head".
Pretty hefty, not flimsy by any means.
Closes down to a gap of about 3/4" as seen in pic. Opens to about 1 1/4" gap.
Generic Taiwan, no brand visible.
No idea what it's for.
