Recently I did some work on this 05 gx470 with 263,000 miles. Timing belt and water pump along with crank seal and all the pulleys and pulley brackets. Completed the job and the truck ran very smooth! Even did a new trans filter and fluid flush a while after the timing job. Around 1100 miles later and 2 months later it’s knocking, sounds like rod, or main bearing knock. No check engine light and no appearance of bent valves, looked at all the cylinders with borescope. Checked timing by lining up the dampener and taking off the cam timing covers, seems to be in time. Checked timing belt tensioner and it seems to be good but after another new tensioner seems to be knocking worse. Is this related to the timing? It was running so smooth for a while after the job.
