Long story long I was replacing my intake manifold yesterday when I discovered a rodent (Chipmunk?) nest.
Right in the valley of the engine block. It was huge.

I have been having some extreme electrical issues on my vehicle so I have been suspecting rodent damage.
I could see evidence of scat and chewed nuts in the engine bay.

Issues to date (P0031 & P0051, P1440 & P1443)

After removing the SAI system I found the nest and along with it I found one of the knock sensors had chew marks on its wiring.
Upon further inspection it appears be a shielding wire that is chewed.
The wire is blue as can be seen in the images attached.
The blue wire wraps around the black and white wires that lead to the connector that is why i am thinking shielding wire for signal??

If anyone knows more about wiring or electronics please chime in.

I will be posting about the condition of the SAI Pump etc. on another thread.

I had this happen to me not soo long ago. Knock sensor uses the same connector as fuel injector, if you are lucky unplugging knock sensor connector without breaking it, you can de-pin the wire from the connector and solder it, and install heat shrink on it. If you are not soo lucky like me, then you would need a new connector part number is 9098011875. Here is the link to purchase new OEM connector. Here is the link to generic connector with the wire attached. Both work just fine. Install good quality heat shirk and you won't have any problems.
Here is how I replaced mine Skip the video to 14:40.
