Seeking input on this project. I acquired it by chance and have wanted a rubicon worthy rig for a while. My plan is to put these axles with 4/88 gears on this ‘71 frame. I don’t have motor and tranny yet but I would like to go with something tried and true. Thinking Chevy V-8. Sm420 and a Toyota t/c. 37’ military Goodyear’s.

The axle mounting brackets have been offset 10 degrees, I assume for clearance issues. But from what I have read it is best to keep them square to the output shafts, so I think I should change them back. Also I think I want to run the springs under axles to keep the CG low. any thoughts on that front?

Axle mounting brackets? Offset 10* from which reference?

Sua can work, but you have to cut much more, or limit suspension travel, to make it work with bigger tires.

37" military Goodyear's have real weak sidewalls. Not ideal.

The brackets that you mount to the leaf springs are rotated 10 degrees from the differential case as you can see in the pictures. I think people do this to avoid damage to the third member. The knuckles are still lined up in their stock configuration. So at this point I either need to cut and rotate the Ball Joint OR put the brackets back so the diff and knuckles are lined up properly. So am I on the right track?

The body is already cut way high so I think I SUA will work with the 37s which I may upgrade at a later time...
