Well I think I found a car.

A 1972 fj55 with some extra goodiessss

Just gotta check it out and see if everything is ok and all.

What should I look out for fellow mudders?

Rust spots frame tweaks gutter problems.............

If I could just get some feedback on what to keep an eye out for I would really really appreciate it guys.

I'd say start with the usual...

Any mods?
Service records?
birfield service?
Engine run okay?
Leaks, leaks, leaks?
Body damage or rust (or bondo or "unexplained" diamond plate...)
Gauges work?
4WD work?
.....

Ya ive got that factor thought out. Just thinking more along the lines of common bad things


Oh ok i'll say what its got.

Chevy 350 motor
Turbo 400 Tranny
SOA already
Disc brakes in the front
and Power steering

thats all I know as of right now about this thing.

Sounds cool, posting some pics gives a better idea of what's worth.


And make sure you test drive it and make sure there isn't anything funky going on.

I guess for a truck that's been heavily altered already; I would start by finding out who did the work; check all fab/weld work (decent? or nasty horrible booger welds??...If I saw something that had been hacked and ghetto-ified, I would be very suspicious of things I couldn't see); any tires chopped real bad?; test drive it ( try to run it through all gears: forward,reverse,low range,highway speeds?)...and if possible follow behind it while someone else drives it (makes it easier to see if things are misaligned or dog-legging )

oh yeah...don't forget to peek under the floormats while you hunt for the usual rusted places
