I am going to install an OME lift with SPC UCA this week. The layout of my garage dictates that I have to do one end, then reverse the position of the vehicle. My question is, do I close the KDSS valves, after I install the one end, to turn the vehicle around and back it in, or can I leave them open while I move it?

nope just leave the valves open until you're finished - its not going to hurt anything

Thanks! Will post pics when done.

Anytime I open my valves to adjust my suspension for whatever reason I do the following - after I'm finished with the adjustments I leave the valves open, drive around my neighborhood for a few minutes giving the fluid a fair chance to circulate within the system, let it sit in my garage (which is level) for 5-10 minutes, then I set the valves back to full shut. That's my routine, doesn't make it right but it works for me. I simply got tired of jumping up and down on my sliders and bumpers trying to cycle the system. I cannot tell you how many times I'd open the valves to do something then shut them and my rig be off 1"to 1/2" here of there. I'll take 1/2" - 1/4" off but anymore than that I'm massaging the issue until I'm super close to level on all four corners. Good luck - its a simple system you just have to play around with it.

The manual will instruct you not to drive with the system open - but simply turning the vehicle around shouldn't hurt unless you have some extreme angles in your driveway. I did one half of my lift, let the car sit (bounced on the bumper a bit), closed the valves and then turned the car around - waiting until the next day - and then opened the valves and did the other half of the lift. Once your valves are free it only takes 2 minutes to get under there and open and close them..... I was just paranoid that I'd forget to close them!

Toyota will always be conservative on what they instruct you to do or not to do. Toyota is protecting themselves from some "smart" person ripping down the street with no sway bars (valves open) loosing control and injuring people. you do what you want. I'm 6' 195lbs and I cannot get enough bounce into my jumping on the truck to cycle the system, therefore I take a leisurely stroll around the hood.

I totally agree. They are trying to protect us from ourselves! o_O
I'm about the same physical size and also don't get significant movement from the suspension (especially after the lift).
I was just saying that if Tom is concerned, then follow the manual's instructions and close the valves - its easy. I was feeling conservative when I did my lift - and I also seem to have a really level truck for some reason. In this case I followed the FSM.
