So umm yeah. It finally came in from 'down under' and i don't know how i feel about it. This morning driving into work it was making the tire carrier 'bounce' a little. This worries me, because if it bounces a little on the fwy.. what's it going to do on a washboard road? Plus, im only running a 48" hi-lift. I'd really feel bad about the guys running a 60"!

I have a email into Manafre, which im sure is going to say.. "yeah its fine, they all do that"

It's not thaaaat big of a deal to me that it may bounce a little here and there.. that's why i went ahead and ordered it and gave it a shot anyways. My Xj had a kaymar and i had a hi-lift (homegrown BEHIND the tire) mount on it and it did the same thing. It never had a problem.

Anyways, i just wanted to share, because it never seems like there is enough information out there regarding this jack mount on Mud(ive seen one guy). Hopefully i'll be able to add some useful hands on information.

I picked up the telescoping light too. Im really happy with this.. even though i haven't had a second to wire it up yet. It's nice how you can aim it virtually any direction you want. It will be nice for a camplight because we normally setup camp on the passenger side of the rig already. I chose a HELLA FF Ultra worklamp which should work bitchen. I think the standard setup comes with a regular HELLA lamp.
All in all , i'll probably just run the setup for a while to see how bad it is/gets offroad.

On with the pics.

That is the first I have seen of Kaymar's hi-lift, it looks good. The only potential problem I can see is that the hi-lift is mounted outside the tire which adds to the leverage of the already mounted tire on the hinge and latching mechanism. .02

D, I think you are officially the HEAVIEST 80 out there, title formerly held by Alvaro on the norcal side and are very own Silvercruiser (DJ).

Looks good.

Looks nice - confirms my feeling about NOT wanting the Kaymar Hi-lift holder. Looks like you could also drag the bottom of the jack on a steep enough departure angle. Light is nice, but I think I'm going with the set up like Stan's.

I think you WIN for most shiat hanging from your rear bumper!

At some point, dude, you're gonna have to stop. You're gonna have to go to meetings, surrender to a higher power, stand up in front of everyone and say, "Hi, my name is SOCALFJ, and I'm a Modificationaholic."

Hi, SOCALFJ!

Seriously, just get in there and make sure all your brackets are nice and tight. You've got a ton of weight back there...it's gonna bounce. Plus, I'm sure your stiffer, OME heavy springs in the rear are passing a little of that shock on to the frame, the bumper, and the accessories. The Kaymar is purpose-built for corrugations and rough-road miles--I'm sure it will stand up. They make some burly stuff.

You do have a problem, though.;p

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so at lunch right now, i tightened it up a bit more and shoved the tire back into the carrier a little more. It doesnt wiggle as much as before. I think it will be fine. Brent, as far as hitting the jack on something... i'll have to drive up a brick wall to do that or go play in big rocks.. and i know i won't be doing either.

STILL LOL"ing!!! thanks Shahram for my new signature!!! LMFAO!!

Oh and by the way, im officially done modding the rig for now (excludes parts that i already have sitting in my office). The new casa will be numero uno. So the aux fuel tank and fresh water system will have to wait.:(

Shahram - ROTFLMAO. Dave has us all beat on mods!

Oh - contest between Stan and Dave. Nice! Should be a close vote. Do we need to put a poll in here after both describe what they've done this past year, pics included? Loser buys the  and

Hey Stan, I saw your sig line...

"07FJC/Silver,ARB'd, Locked, Too Many MODS,Brother in CHRIST, ARBfreezer/fridge"

...and am wondering how much that Brother in Christ cost you. I called Man-a-Fre to see if I could order one, and there was uncomfortable silence on Steve's end, which led me to believe they may be out of stock.

-MODaholic...HAHAHA!

HI Dave!

of course, i'd only se you in the halls, I'm in the next meeting:
"How to deal with MOD envy" followed by, "your truck is big enough, and people like you"

No offense at all intended Stan but...
