Ok, fishing season is all but over for me and it is time to start on next year's beach rig. Ive been reading about this swap for the past few months as this swap has been a plan all year. My current 22re 1st Gen runner is great, except it leaks more oil than the valdez, hence it's nick name, and has some other issues. Was rode hard and put up wet before I got it and my plan was just to make it through this year with it. The next project is another 1st gen runner 3.0. Not sure of the exact year, has a replacement CA Vin on the door. The donor vehicle is my first ever truck, a rusted and stripped out 01 tacoma, 4x4, auto. I just want to make sure I have everything understood.
Crossover pipe, not an issue, I can fab that easily.
Hood mods, again, not an issue. I will never run a body lift because of my beach driving habits.
I have pulled my 3.4 out of my taco already. All wiring that was attached to the motor is still attached. I still need to pull the obd2 plug and the body harness to ecu plugs. Are there and more that I am missing? I am going to buy a plug and play harness from tos or ors. Want to make sure before she is on a trailer for the scrap yard as I don't have room for both vehicles in the shop at the same time.
I plan on running the a340 that is in the v6 1st Gen already. I need the t100 computer to make this work, correct? I dont have the original tranny out of the taco anymore. I do have a r150f in the shop but don't want to deal with driveshafts, crossmembers, tcase, ect.
A/C is not going in so I'm not worried about that at all.
I can't find my 3.4 ps pump. I ripped it off long ago when I rusted a line out and said hell with power steering, only 12 minutes from my front door to the beach. Can I use the one off the 3.0? Haven't found anything about that.
I am using the oil pan off the blown 3.0 for the 3.4. Seems straight forward.
Using the motor mounts off the 3.0 and putting them on the 3.4. Again, seems straight forward.
All the other minor things I have read about seem straight forward also. Battery relocation ect.
Just want to make sure I'm on the right track so far. Thanks for any help or advice
