good day waggoneer5: A couiple of questions for you on your 40th. Is the interior two tone, exterior sage green, serial number on center consel, climate control, upgrade stereo? Only questioning because it is really rare to have locker fr&rr on these trucks. and you state you do. I know of only one and he regeared and put ARB's in his. later robbie

Robbie,

I looked at 3 Antique Sage 40ths (all with factory lockers) and bought the third one I looked at. I wonder if, percentage-wise, more 40ths have lockers. It would make sense that people willing to buy a new 40th in 1997 would go all out on the options.

Anyway, my experience is that there are quite a few 40ths with lockers.

It's possible someone just wanted the badges on their truck, maybe even the original owner. If they went to that trouble maybe they took some pride in it???

I think that this is pretty accurate. Kaderabek just bought a '97 with all options (including lockers) from LSLC's founding member and first president. It is a white truck, single-tone interior but with all 3 40th badges and floor mats. This was definately a "pride in ownership" thing as the truck is one of the cleanest 97's I've ever seen. (Except for the mustard stain on the tailgate carpet that I put there during the Roundup...sorry Todd!)

Beowulf,

Those are late-model 4Runner wheels, so 7.5" wide I believe. At last check, Waggoner5 was not sure if he was going to keep them on, or switch out to OE or other aftermarket wheels.

Robbie my truck is exactly as you describe and is the Sage color. Factory Lockers

Man, Garry, you got right into the swing of all things 80...I'm referring to the Starbuck's cup in the second pic!

I assume that rig will be at our July meeting?

Garth is right. The wheels are 2003-04 4runner, and they are not staying on it. They require a 1.5" spacer and I am not fvery fond of spacers. The wheels and spacers will be avilable for sale when they are replaced. Actually Garth those pics were taken by the previus owner. I am not quite foo-foo enough for Starbucks, as you know. I am sure I will bring it to the meeting on the 16th.

Nice cruiser...What's unfunctional about the scoop? Was there no large whole cut in the hood?

the hood scoops toyota puts on the 4runners are non-functioning, just for looks - no big hole cut in the hood. that one's prob the same if i had to guess...

Gary,

Them's fightin' words here in the 80 section. You are an 80 owner now so slumming at Dunkin' Donuts for your coffee doesn't cut it.

Thanks for the info. I had not seen any 40th's with lockers as I had posted. It is good to know that they come that way. The first time I saw a 40th and I saw that it did not come with lockers it was a disapoointment. Good to hear that some of the 40th's came with lockers and Mr T did it right. later robbie
