Just bought my 100, is it sporting LX Seats?

New owner of a '99 TLC. The front seats have a beefier headrest and the rear pocket is all leather resembling that of a LX470. Was there a factory seat option? The leather wear is appropriate for a '99, definitely not new. Just curious. Couldn't be happier with it and feel lucky to find one with only 112k miles. Just curious about the seats.

Searched the forum, no dice.

Non-LX...but still looks great.

Steve

I'm thinking it is factory as my '99 has the same interior as yours. There is no stitching on the console lid or the door panels.
Rear pockets are leather too. Could have been something to do with date of manufacture on the '99s. (3/99 on the door jamb)

Mine shows the normal wear and does not look to have been replaced. I've wondered why the difference. It came from south Florida before I owned it.

I checked the PN's for the interior door panels (2nd row) and they are all the same from 98-02 for oak or gray leather interiors.
Your's is from Florida, drmwver's possibly from Texas.... so perhaps it's Gulf Coast Port installed leather. Not necessarily a bad thing since the leather seems to have held up well. But I'm guessing the original owner paid a premium for it... or the dealer made a nice margin on it.

My understanding is Toyota owns all Toyota distribution companies in the US except Gulf State Toyota and Southeast Toyota. I'd be interested to see the window stickers on these (GSToyota or SEToyota) LC's. If you have one, please post up!

@hoser, that would a nice add-on profit for S.E. Toyota. They were known for that list at the bottom of the window sticker. If I remember correctly the Southeast owner got in very early on the distribution deal so he had his way with the dealer network.

I remember pics of him wearing worn out jeans with holes in 'em while meeting the dealers back in the 80's. The sales pressure was non-stop with at least one dealer in my area doing 24-hr sales days and open everyday.

I had the window sticker, if I can find it again I'll post it.

And the answer is. Drum roll.....Distributor installed for a mere $1885.00!

Along with other distributor installed options comes to $5787.00 That's why Southeast Toyota is the most profitable Toyota distributor nationwide.

Thanks, Keowee. So, yes, distributor/port installed leather.

The price of the port installed leather seems to be comparable to the OE leather package ($1885 vs $1820). But their cost to have them done locally is likely less.... otherwise, wouldn't SE Toyota just order the 100's with leather to begin with.

What this also means, there are thousands of nearly new cloth seat covers out there, probably in a landfill in Texas.

Found a 1999 sticker from Long Beach and Baltimore for comparison. That $430 rear diff lock is a great deal :)
