Truggier, have you ever met anybody from New Yawk?

Truggier meet Macneil... Mac meet Trug. :)

Heck, most of my extended family lives on Long Island. It's just hard to read someone through plain text.

My wife is driving the 100 all the time...it's her car except when it breaks or needs maintenance, lol. I think her favorite feature is the tushy warmers...

Btw, I had to look twice when I saw the GVW sticker on the drivers door inset. This beast weighs half of what my 31' RV weighs. How did Toyota make such a heavy vehicle - where does that extra weight come from?

I think the simple answer is everything is beefed up, think african / austrialian / desert punishment with a 25 year duty cycle. How tough would the truck have to be to survive in these environment? Pretty tough.:D

She is a big bitch for sure.

Frame is beefed up from the previous series and the axles are nice and heavy. Heavy transmission and full time transfer case. Lot of steel here.

It weighs about 500 lbs. more than the FZJ80 I think.

Kind of funny, the V8 weighs 75lbs. or so less than the I6.

Yeah, it's amazing how much these things weigh. My Dad has a 1991 GMC Suburban 1500 4x4. It weighs in at 7000 lbs. and my 100 weighs in at 6840 or 6860 (can't remember which). The Suburban looks HUGE compared to the 100. My Dad didn't believe me when I told him my 100 was within a couple hundred lbs. of his Suburban. It just goes to show you that size isn't everything.

Greg, the weights you have listed are for Gross Vehicle Weight Rating or maximum recommended weight of the vehicle including passengers, fluids and cargo. In actuality, your LC weighs more than your fathers Suburban. His Suburban has more load capacity though.

1991 Suburban 1500 4x4 Auto--4902 lbs
1991 Suburban 2500 4x4 Auto--5262 lbs
2001 LC--5115 lbs
2001 LX 470--5401 lbs
1997 LC--4751 lbs
1997 LX 450--4971 lbs

I thought the 100 series weighed about 800 lbs more then the 80 series? seems strange that a LX would weigh 300 lbs more then a LC? I know they have a little more insulation but that would not be 300 lbs. Maybe these are european weights for a stripped down LC and a loaded LX?

I guess the differences add up to 286 lbs...
AHC suspension
Supposedly different windshield (extra layer)
More sound insulation
Body Cladding

FYI, the 2006 LC weighs 5591lbs (with the 5-speed tranny).
