Many of us with early 80's have heard that replacing the headliner is not going to happen or is going to be big money. I stopped by an upholstery shop in Cleveland yesterday to get a quote for replacing the headliner. He told me $250-300 labor and it'll be a couple hours work. He said it'll be a little more if he needed to remove glass (in our case, only the front WS from what I can see). He said to find a kit online ($399 was the first price I saw).
