Please join us this Saturday as the Four Wheel Drive Association hosts our monthly West Harrison Maintenance Run. Today I joined Mike Peters from the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts as he delivered supplies in preparation for our run this weekend.
My plan for Saturday is:
1) Install new picnic tables and fire rings at Francis Lake
2) Perform site cleanup at Hale Creek and Sunrise Lake (Hale Creek was in remarkably good shape today)
3) Evaluate our supply requirements for Lookout Lake -- in preparation for July's maintenance run.
Oh....AND to go 'wheeling! The Weaver/Francis connector trail is just begging for use this year!
As always, we meet at the Sasquatch Inn (approximately 30kms east of Mission on Hwy 7) at 9:30am and depart from there at 10:00 (SHARP!). This run is suitable for all levels of vehicle capability -- Francis Lake is an easy road with some cross ditches and today we successfully negotiated the North Hale Creek access road in a mid '90s Chevrolet 1 ton dually without incident, while my understanding of the Weaver-Francis connector is that it is very interesting for modified vehicles after this past winter.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions about this run, our involvement with recreation sites or about the Four Wheel Drive Association in general.
Hope to see you on Saturday
