I need a spout type jerry can.

Anyone know where you can get these? The above pic is from Kaymar. I'll check with manafre tomorrow.

Im using it on the Kaymar dual swing out like the below pic..

Get one of the Sceptor's, the opening is huge, go to your local home improvement store and buy a outdoor faucet. Drill a hole and use two rubber gaskets to seal it up, tighten it down and now you have your water container with a faucet. I've been using mine for around seven years and it works great.

x2.

You can get the Sceptor water can from Slee.

Best is a brass faucet. Drill the hole a bit up from the bottom, as you need to be able to get the gasket around the faucet's male treads. Use a brass coupling as your inside "nut" on the faucet's male threads.

The cool thing about the Kaymar can holder is you can get an empty can with faucet in and out of the holder by tilting it to one side.

A tip - buy the can before you attach the license plate holder to the can holder - when you are ready to attach the license plate holder bracket, make sure the attachment bolts are pan head and are inside of the can's side indented X, otherwise the bolts will rub against the can's side.

Most outdoor stores also sell the replacement spigots for coolers. I picked one up for under $3. I think you can get a blue Jerry can from Sportsman's warehouse for under $20.

My only concern with that spout is that it will get caught on something and probably break. Then you are out of water.
There are some on our group who carry a super siphon for gas and another one for fuel.

Just my two cents.

My Brother ordered two of those type of cans from MFRE about three weeks ago. Waited, waited, waited, waited.
Finally called, they guy who he ordered them from said "Oh, I must have forgot to tell you, the container with those on it won't be here from OZ for another three weeks."

Nice.

I think they were $40 per. With the typical $$$$ handling / shipping / doing you a favor / whatever fees that they like to tack on.

Good luck.

Alvaro, i have a super siphon already... but i dont want to siphon a cup of water out of my 5 gallon gerry can. That would be a PITA.

Skillet, yep they're waiting for a container for tons of their stock. I just ordered the last swing out for the jerry can holder.

I'll probably just put a tap on one of my NATO cans i already have..

Just a suggestion... Don't store your drinking water out where it is going to get covered in mud and dirt. Makes the coffee gritty.

Probably gonna get used more for washing hands ... but thanks for the tip ;) Im not worried.

The tap that I used is all metal and the Sceptor can is plenty thick. I've had mine done for about seven years and it has been lifted by the tap numerous times. It would take a serious impact to break this one.

I used to carry mine on the rear of my jeep and I took a short piece of washing machine filler hose, it screws onto the tap and you can make it any length you want. We just let it run for a few seconds to wash out any dirt that collected, never had a problem. Be it two or more days on the Rubicon or multi-day desert trips. Makes it real handy to get your water.

One for gas and one for water. You won't be dissapointed with the siphon and it's a simple device so the odds of it failing have got to be very low.
