Living in the Past
SILVER Star
I have 4 or 5 of those metal cans and love them, still solid and no leaks with fresh gaskets. The 40 has 2-18 gal tanks so they don't get much use anymore. I bought them back in the day my daily driver was a '47 Studebaker 1/2 ton with no working gauge. Think it was the dog at the time, and not the truck that convinced the wife to say yes when I proposed.![]()
I have a few more than the ones in the picture. Because of how rural we are just makes sense to haul gas for my cruisers. Clint's Well was sold in the last few years. Everything has changed. Besides the price if you want eat at the restaurant it may not even be open.
A advantage of metal gas cans I can leave them in the trailer when I fill them. No risk of static electricity spark. Makes things go a lot quicker at Costco not have to lift cans out to fill.
