I'm glad you point out Tread Lightly. Out club follows the advice of TreadLightly.org We bring it up in all our club meetings and review it before major trail outings. The pictures above were taken in a dry salt flat just west of McCamey. Wheeling in this area is granted to us by the land owners permission. He and our club know when and were we are allowed to wheel. We have full land owner permission to wheel in the dry salt flat. We are not destroying anything because nothing grows in the dry salt flat. The ruts we leave behind are dissolved back into the salt flat after every rain. The pictures above are in a designated wheeling area. Hopefully everyone who wheels is familiar with treadlightly.org. I recommend you check out the site: Tread Lightly - Home

The flier in the above post has been updated. We now have 5 bands playing and have added several more sponsors. Please take the time to look over the new updates and I encourage everyone to come out and have a good time with us!

We are still welcoming anyone interested in becoming a sponsor, setting up a booth at the event, or becoming a vendor.

Also, we now have access to the McDonald Ranch out by Girvin Texas (Just West of the Jeep Fest Event) This ranch has wheeling terrain from beginner to extreme. However the land owner charges $25.00 per rig. We may get a discount during the Jeep Fest but as of now it sits at $25.00.

We will still have access to the free wheeling area just west of the event and there will be obstacles at the event itself.

That sounds like a heck of a gig! It looks like a good time- lotsa' fun and we appreciate the invite, I won't make the drive from Oregon but if something like that was happenin' up here I would have to check it out!

This Saturday only, Rock Hard Jeep Club will pick up the $25.00 tab for anyone who wants to wheel at the McDonald ranch with us! So come join the fun, it's on us!
