Get a 1KZTE powered (post mid 1993) one if you can, however the 2LT is not as bad as it's painted. A well sorted one has lenty of torque for wheeling and is easily tuneable (Bigger exhaust, Intercooler etc).
The Head cracking doesn't always happen, and as long as you get a good price and put some money away for it going just in case, then you have yourself a good motor.
