I'm going to buy myself an a/c charging manifold of good quality for my F150 and my BJ74.
Will I need plumbing adapters to connect to the BJ74 a/c system?
Thanks.

Thanks. Will new, modern refrigerant couplings connect? Perhaps adapters are available?

So I could leave the compressor fittings alone and refill via fancy manifold?

Yes, you don't want to change the fittings on the compressor manifold unless you are changing refrigerant type in the system.

Yes if changing refrigerant, you need to change the seals and the adapter fittings, you should also change the dryer to avoid contamination.

I ordered them from Rock Auto. I used the EPC to find a US vehicle cross-reference.
I believe it was the '86 FJ6X.
I can look for the order details.
There's always a chance the stuff won't fit.

Here's what I ordered.

O-rings yes. Gaskets no.
That kit is a set of standard sized O-rings and worked fine.
The compressor I got was new and I had an a/c shop swap the clutch from the old 24V unit.

I did not re-use any gaskets. I flushed the system myself but the a/c guy did a final check. He may have done things I don't know about (although I paid him). All the connections I made involved O-rings.
