The 2016 calendar hasn't been posted yet, and I'm trying to get some things scheduled for the next month or so. One of these things is a wheelin' trip.

Anybody down for a trip during late January / early February? I'd be interested in Chocco or AOP or somewhere else within a couple of hours of ATL. I checked both web pages and it doesn't appear either park has any major events planned, so any weekend should work.

Just to throw it out there, I'd prefer the weekend of 1/23, 1/30, or 2/6 but am flexible. Finally, I will be camping if I have company.

what kind of wheeling? im thinking about comming to N. Ga area to wheel in jan or feb. i have an 80 series with lockers, lift and MT.

Of the regulars that seem to be showing up lately (which is not me), most like to hit the difficult trails. With this said, we usually seem to run the trails that fit the best for the rigs that show up. Both Chocco and AOP, if we end up going to one of these parks, have a good variety of trails with varying difficulty (previews are readily available by browsing youtube). If your coming up from FL, both of these parks are within ~ 2hrs of metro-ATL.

We'll see what kind of interest this ride gets, but hopefully it'll happen.

Tony- you missed a great ride this weekend at the Cove. There is such a variety of terrain/challenges there. We crossed rivers and creeks 10-15 times. The deepest was about 3/4 up my 80's door, or somewhere near 4 feet. We had hill climbs in rocks, ledges and clay, off camber creek crossings on the side of a mountain that made you really pinch the seat cushion tight turns in good sized rocks... just about anything you could think of. I bet my e lockers were turned on and off 40 times. I'd need to lock to climb some rocks, or a hill, and as soon as I was over, flip them off to make a sharp turn back 60 degrees from the way I just came. We rode from around 10-5 Friday, 10-4 Saturday and then 10-2 Sunday on our exit and only crossed the same trails once or twice. It was scenic and challenging. I counted 13 rigs at one point, but I think we started with near 20. There was a little red 80 with a rear lunchbox locker that covered all of the trails Friday and Saturday, but headed out after lunch. I was glad for him that he left before the deepest water crossing. It was at the door handle on my 80 with a 5" lift ant 35's and was right at the bottom of the hood.

If the GA crew talks about the Cover, don't miss it. I look forward to going back. It's just east of AOP, around 10 miles closer to Chattanooga. It pretty much requires a guide that knows the trails. A guy could get lost in there for a week, or could had down a trail that he wouldn't want to return back down.

Yep, I had a blast even though I only had a day. I have been several times and I always enjoy going. 33s, MTs and a rear locker are a minimum requirement. Just look at last years thread

Would be nice to go back in march if we can get a few folks together

I wanted to make the New Years trip but couldn't pull it off with holiday family obligations.

I'd definitely be down for a cove trip in March if someone knows their way around.
