I'll take the camping where you just open the ice chest at night and the ice that melted during the day freezes again.

Yes, well, but then you're into extra money on sleeping bags, heaters, ground cover, or if you're one of the cool kids you've got the rooftop tent. But those are free, right? Found out the hard way in Death Valley last month... cold weather camping kinda sucks without all the proper stuff.

No cool kid here with a RTT, but I like to hunt in the high country. Cold weather camping and elk hunting pretty much went hand in hand. Started doing that in the early seventies. It's was a learning curve. I believe I paid a $100 for my current sleeping bag. But that was probably fifteen years ago. It takes up more than my 10' X16' Coleman tent when they both are folded up. Not something your taking backpacking but it is warm. When it's really cold I also have a couple of pre WWII military wool blankets. My dad joined the military prior to WWII and when he left the service after the war they went MIA when it came time to turn them in. He always said that after war started the quality of the blankets when down so he held to his original ones. One those on top and one on the bottom of the sleeping help in even colder weather. I have a few heaters but rarely ever use them. Never leave any gas appliance when I'm sleeping. Able to heat the tent with a Coleman lantern and stove for coffee. Sleepingbag is really the only thing I bought for the cold weather. Lantern, stove and tent are things I use no matter what the weather.

Guess you missed my main point it wasn't the cost of a refrigerator but rather if it's hot enough that ice along won't do the trick I'd rather not camp. I worked HAVC in the valley for a lot of years so avoid being when ever I can. While I can cold weather camp pretty cheap that wasn't the case with my wife who doesn't enjoy camping even in the summertime. This is her idea of cold weather camping.

HOA prevents rentals for anything under thirty days. A few have tried shorter rentals but have got caught. To be honest we consider that our home and looking to make money renting it. Any chance we get we want to be able to go. Until recently we would spend two or three weekends a month there now it's been since Thanksgiving.:crybaby:

Post up possible teasers here as well as requests or needs.

Will anyone have any parts/stuff for the FJ40?

Msahr... i thought i was getting one of the booney hats :( wouldn't mind that map case either? Can you call dips on swap meet $hit?

I know I posted those up before but never heard anything so... but yeah you want one, no problemo. And the map case w/magazine.

Forgot to mention, I have a pair of '71 FJ40 doors in beige. Glass is good, windows roll up/down, but they are by no means perfect or "like new", would require work. If anybody's interested let me know and I'll drag them out in the sun for a pic but unless I have a hard offer I'm NOT dragging these to the 'meet... too heavy and I don't want to take a chance with the glass.

Also have a full '71 hardtop with doors (not the ones above) with all glass intact in red. Not sure it's for sale unless crazy (CRAZY!) money is offered. Top is actually pretty nice but would need restoration (rubber, paint, etc).

nice, i thought i pm'ed you back and you blew me off, lol, and i was me all along... "thought" that counts i guess! either way, clearly losing my marbles!

*** Looks like it's shaping up to be a nice flea market *** I'll try to find some extra tables to bring for folks to use.

Sorry if I missed you on that. I wouldn't have blown you off, really. But you have first dibs on a hat.

I also have a small fridge for indoors, but I think it's blown a fuse or something, it was brand new and for whatever reason just doesn't work? If anyone wants it $20 takes it all.
