My James Baroud RTT solar fan quite working after 3 years, which I rely upon to keep the inside dry in cold weather (mostly condensed breath).
I suspected it was the battery - a sub-C nickle metal hydride battery soldered in place. I called the dealer in Seattle and he sent me a entire fan assembly. It is strange they do not have a replacement battery compartment, because the batteries are easy to get.
Here is some information to help with a replacement. The last picture is the upside down view, with the foam seal visible.
1) Remove the 3 nuts (not the screws) from the top of the roof.
2) Use a paint scraper to cut the caulking seal taking care not to damage the foam seal.
3) Gently pull the unit up from the top.
4) Clean up the old caulking residue.
5) Seal with a good quality exterior RV or roofing sealant and reattach with the three SS nuts.
6) Run a smooth bead around the outside edge.
Now I can wake up without a damp exterior sleeping bag.
