I've been contemplating making the switch from an 80 to a 40. I've had some friends advise me to drive/ride in a built 40 first. That seems like sound advice, so here I go.
I would love to drive or ride in a built 40. Preferably lifted and on 35's. A V8 swap would be nice but not a must.
My main goal is to experience the regular highway driving and if I can deal with the short wheel base. I don't drive my 80 everyday, it would be parked full time but I like to drive it on Fridays to work, I'd like to do the same with the 40.
I realize it will be a completely different driving experience, I guess that's why I want to try one out.
I have dreams and aspirations to build a FJ40 hybrid (80 axles and brakes with 100 series motor and tranny). I know, I know... I tend to dream big
