i have a white water that i rarely use and my recreational kayak was stolen.. looking for another sit on top kayak and interested in your suggestions and experience. thanks :)

I've loved my two perception rec kayaks. They are super simple and you get a good value as far as feature vs. craftsmanship vs. price. I would definitely replace if stolen. I like to take em on slow rivers ponds lakes and the ocean/ sound for fishing and i dont think you can beat em. I'm not into the whole spend a grand to get a "fishing" kayak. Gimme a cooler of cold ones and a rod or two and i'm a happy camper.

So Perception would be my vote.

For white water i'm a pyranah guy though.

Can't go wrong with an Ocean Kayak or Wilderness Systems. I own 3 Wilderness Systems. A 16' Tarpon 160 for open ocean fishing, a 13' Tarpon 130T tandem for the :princess: and I when we fish on lakes, and a 12' Tarpon 120 when I fish solo on lakes, rivers, harbors.

What do you mean by ocean kayak? What are you trying to do specifically with the boat? There are certain things that certain boats are better for depending on their design. With a better description of what you'll be doing will help to narrow it down. I'll send you a pm with some info that i emailed a buddy, its a long read but a lot of info on the different designs.

I have an Ocean Kayak (brand) Yak board that I really like a lot. This is the sit on top I take to the beach and it really is a lot of fun surfing in the waves. It does okay in the local creeks and rivers as well here in central Kentucky. Short and fun to play around on. Not so well tracking on the flat water but not what I purchased it for.

For the recreational kayaks I like my Old Town's real well. I have a couple Dirigo's, one a 106 and one a 120 and an Old Town Rush. They are great for up to class II's and fine in III's.

How about a inflatable kayak? We love are Trinity II. Being able to sit any way we wanted without compromising balance and with both of us paddling. For an inflatable boat, it was surprisingly fast. Paddling with friends in a canoe, we are always able to out distance them without much effort.
