@woody

Is there an option with the current forum software to add a notification to a post that has been quoted/replied to further down in a thread?

For example, someone asks a question in post 93 of a thread, but it isn't until post 124 that someone quotes post 93 and answers the question. Can a clickable notification (that would take you to the answer) automatically be added to post 93 once it's been quoted in post 124?

Lots of the threads on 'MUD are about asking and answering questions obviously, and this might be a useful tool to those searching for answers. It would be especially helpful in the all the big "what did you do with your XX series" threads.

Does that make sense?

Thanks Woody!

Every thread can be started as a "question"...has been a feature for years. However, I cannot force users to select it.

You could have started this very thread as a Question :)

I have never used the question option - I'll have to try it!

I don't think that applies to ongoing threads though, right? If someone asks a question in one of the "what did you do with..." threads, there's no way to make an individual post a question, is there?

Thanks for the info Woody!
