This will be the 5th time my exhaust has started to leak within three days of reinstalling it. I have went thru 3 brand new manifolds, and 2sets of gaskets.

I have a horrific exhaust leak. But last time (worse than this one) it showed no visible signs on any gasket. I re-did it saturday. Installed new studs, cleaned, etc. It was the perfect prep, and alot more thorough than What i usually do. AND...

ITS BACK!!!

What can be giving me the ehaust leak, lack of power, and make me so much more pissed off than I already am?
Is it a warped blcok? Can I stuff another gasket in there to make up for it? IM tired of it, and want a 4.3 swap. I cant justify putting another gas engine in it though...

Thanks!

How do you know for sure it is an exhaust leak?
Are you using a OEM gasket?
What are you torquing nuts to?

What else makes that sound?
No, They cost to much for my budget. I get them for free through Orielly's. Could that be my problem?
I knew this question was coming... Its hard to tell with a broken torque wrench, Im going to say around 40. Is that to much?

Have you checked the manifold with a straight edge? How about the surface of the head? Perfect gasket, perfect torque, perfect prep will not fix a leak on warped parts.

x2....

Sometimes when the manifold is just slightly warped you can use two gaskets but it is rare that you can actually get away with it.

Did you replace the donut gaskets?

Were is your leak coming from? Have you checked to see if maybe your CAT is clogged?

I had a few problems with my inlet pipe cracking where the 2 chamber manifold narrows down to a single pipe but I made a new bracket that mounts to the tranmission and I haven't had the problem since.

The CAT is there, but its not there if you know what im sayin'?

I cant find it! Its impossible, the last 4times you could of felt the air being pushed out, and this one you either cant get your hand where it is or ive lost the feelign in my fingers...

Mine had a similar bracket that braced it on, but it broke when i cranked the bolts loose. Is it worth it to put antoher back on?

Dad is starting to think that the head is warped there. It is a possibility, but I dont want that! I would hate that!

I really dont want to pull the whole head to have that done, I might as well go a different engine in that matter!

Causing my exhaust to tweak and leak? That would make sense, ill give her alook at! Thanks!

your damn straight man!

makes all kind of sense. seen it on just about every vehicle out there...
