Note this work cost the life of my homemake (vintage 1972) 12 tester. such a sacrifice!! good news is I get to make a new one. store bought, we don't need no stinkin store bought!!! of course I will have to buy a solder iron and a new light bulb. Maybe this time I will fix it to last longer than 30yrs. must have been shoddy workmanship, or the bragging I was doing about it being the first tool I made myself. the gods of fate were listening of course so 5 minutes later it broke. should have known better. sigh...glad to help you out chuck. just get the dimmer switch and you will be set.....unless the perches fall off.
