Is this the gap at bottom of radiator where some have added foam insulation?

Yup, down there, as well as on the top. Can't recall if there was space to fill on the sides, too, but basically you want foam to block any openings in order to force air through the radiator.

That’s not that rad, that’s the condenser for the AC, no foam went there from the factory.
I shoved some foam in there after @-Spike- tried it on his 80. The truck doesn’t run any different temperature wise and the AC seems to cool a bit better, especially once moving. But that’s a subjective observation, so your mileage may vary.
