no it was an aftermarket conversion, I don't remember who did those though . . . some like it, some think it's ugly - I'd love to have one as it's the closest I'd ever come to the roominess of a 4 door hilux
 
Back in the 1980's a couple companies made those conversions. One was the same height as the original roof and the other was higher as shown above. The demise of those companies was due to the fact that they were not approved by Toyota, yet one of the companies showed up on the front porch of Toyotas headquarters hotel at their Reno convention (convention of Toyota dealership owners), and wouldn't leave when told to. At Toyota, they call that stepping on a Dick!!!
 
There's a 4x2 around here like that for 1245.00.
 
Done by a company called Custom Fab, out of California. Sold early 80's into early 90's I believe. Many dealerships sold them from their lot already modified, others would send their trucks out to get modified.

I purchased mine new in '85. Still going strong.

Google "Toyota custom cab" and you will get some good hits. Try this also in the "Google images" section too.
