Ok, I know there have been other threads on this matter and I have researched them but I'm looking for some piece of mind before I drop $25k

I've found a 99 100 with the R air & locker, 62k, white w/ tan. Is is overall very clean condition although it has no records. It was bought at auction in S. Cali, probably a lease-return. The dealer who has it does other business with my company so he's willing to "give me a deal"....his sticker was $28,500 and he dropped to $26,000 right away. My guess is he bought it for about $20k. What do all you cheap buggers think?? (that's a compliment BTW)....what would be a decent deal?

Sounds pretty good. That is not to high a milage. I found a list of prices dealers paid at auction for 99 lx 470's (around 40 of them over the last few months) and the average milage was 90k and a price paid was around $20k. Those are rough est. b/c i can't find those papers.

Portland dealers were asking 24,500 for a 99LC 100 that had 80k miles, and was in rough shape.

I settled on my 99 LX for $21k with 95k miles...it's in excellent shape.

just some info...good luck.

I bought my '99 with rear air, no locker, for $25,900 in Nov. 2003 with 38,000 miles. On Autotrader, there is a '99 100 series from a Dallas Lexus dealer for $22,995 - that has 66k miles, and the color is River Rock.

I just picked up a '99 with 43K miles in Dallas from a private party. Paid 23K for it. It has rear air and lockers. Most of the ones I looked at were right in the range your dealer is quoting. If it is the color you want and is clean, don't worry about a couple of bucks either way.

I don't think it's that great of a deal. I'm in the market one, and hence I've been looking around. I was able to find a 2001 + NAV w/ 60k mi for $28,000 (out of my range). Right now I'm looking at a 2000 w/ 102k miles (rear air) for $19,900, and I think I could get him down to $18,900-$19,000.

How does mileage affect the value? I mean, how much less would a 99 with 120,000 miles be worth than a 99 with 60,000 miles with the same options and in relatively same condition.? Just wondering?

25K sounds high- if it was from a private party. From a dealer, with possibly some good financing and a very good inspection/ warranty, I would do it. They have more on the line and they know it.

Horrible deal.

Keep looking. You should be no higher than 22k for any 99 regardless of miles and options.

A 98 can be had for 16.5-18k with locker in the 85-100k mark.

kcsmithson - Was that the green '99 on autotrader in Dallas? I was looking at that one for my wife. I am not sure that I want two 100 series. We are also looking at getting a 2003 + 4runner or a used GS430.

lc prices

Depends on where you are. West coast cruiser prices are higher than east coast or anywhere else it seems. The good thing is that it is probably in better shape on the west coast though.

I agree...25k is too high...I'd never pay that. I was thinking more along the 21-22 mark. I'm going to tell this guy if he really wants to give me the hook up, show me the auction invoice and let me pay 1000 over that....thx for everyones input

That's the one. I bought it for me, but the wife and kids are slowly circling it and moving closer every day. If I'm not careful, I will end up with the minivan.

Sounds like too much. I've seen ads in the autotrader for '01's w/ 60K mi for $32K. '99 LX470's are going for around $25K. I think you should be able to get a '99 LC for $20K or a tad less (and that's for a West Coast car).

I paid a month ago $24,700 for a 2000 LC with 65,000 miles. It's in great shape and only one previous (based on CarFax report). I bought it from a Kia dealer in the Los Angeles area.

I just bought my first LC today. It's a '98 with the lockers and is in excellent condition. The deal was on Autotrader and I got it inspected before I bought it. It had 103K miles on it, but it had all of the records, only one owner and was friggin beautiful when we test drove it. I only paid $15900.00 for it. There are good deals out there, you just have to be patient and waia little

My only question is, who in their right mind would trade an LC100 in for a KIA? That's going from the best quality to the worst.

Damn...that is a good deal. I'd say for 15900 you got a steal on that one...good job

My cousin traded his used BMW for two new Honda Accords one time... You never know how many Kias you can get for a LC until you try.

Yes, I asked the same question and the dealer said they bought the car from an auction. This was also verified based on the CarFax report. In fact, the dealer mentioned that most of their sales are from used cars, and not the sale of Kias.
