The Defender is the only worthly LR out there. RR's & Discos are crap. New RR's look very nice and flashly..but who knows.
Funny story. When i wsa searchig for a car it came down to a RR or LC. I went to the Rover dealer and looked at a 98 RR. He was telling me all about the car..and honestly it was pretty nice inside and out. BUT, then he started telling me about the "adjustable air suspension". My buddy and I then ripped into the dealer. BAsically 20 questions about "What happens when the air bags break?".."how much does it cost to replace susp air bags?"..etc. etc.
After that..i decided that WASNT the pandoras box i wanted to open..so i passed on the RR mainly because of the potential "Adjustable air suspension" issues.
FAST FORWARD..
last week i was driving on the MASS Turnpike (in my LC of course
) and I was coming up on two "preppy looking" guys in a 98ish RR. They were driving VERY slow (like 35 MPH on the highway) and the RR was riding VERY VERY low..you almost couldnt see the top 4-5 inches of the wheels..they were so far up in the wells. ..The "AIR SUSPENSION" crapped out on these poor guys! So, i slowed down and got up right next to them. The driver was on his cell phone..and pushing the "Air suspension Adjusust button" like mad! His buddy (in the pass seat) was looking all around the inside..like he was looking for a short circuit or something. I didnt even realize it..but, i was laughing staring right at the guys. The driver looked over at me and i mouthed "That Sucks"... then i gave him the big thumbs down. The two guys got off at that exit (my exit also)..and they pulled into a LR dealership down the road. I bet the LR Deal was thinking.."THanks guys for giving me $29K for the RR..now, here is a $4K bill for the adjustable air ride".
Oh well..i guess the point is that i am VERY HAPPY with my LC! and i would take that over any other suv.
